Read Johnson Mowat’s Response to the DCLG Standardised Methodology Consultation
Johnson Mowat working on behalf of the Leeds City Region Consortium have issued a response to Central Government regarding the consultation on a new ‘standardised methodology’ for calculating housing need. The proposals put forward by Central Government seek to rebalance affordability ratios and would see supressed levels of housing growth in the North of England. Whilst we welcome the move toward a more standard approach to calculating housing need, we consider the methodology should seek to facilitate a more positive link between housing and economic growth.
