CATCH are informing you about their upcoming CATCH expansion project and invite you to participate in their consultation process.
CATCH have secured funding support from key industrial sponsors including Phillips 66 Limited, Harbour Energy, ABP, DRAX, Uniper and Air Products along with the Humber Freeport Seed capital . With their backing, CATCH has meticulously crafted plans for the expansion of their existing training centre, this will take the form of 3 phases of expansion which aims to deliver 1,000 new learners per year by 2029.
They have achieved Phase 1 in September 2024 with the opening of our new welding and pipefitting training hub (the largest in the UK).
With Phase 2, CATCH are seeking your valued feedback on is the development of 2 areas of the existing Catch site, to build a new Renewable Energy Training Centre increasing our training capacity by up to 90 learners and also extend our existing conferencing facility.
With support from our industry partners and the Humber Freeport this project aims to increase training capacity and enhance educational opportunities for the Engineering and construction industry in North East Lincolnshire, ultimately contributing to economic growth in the region.
Renewable Energy Training Centre:
This phase of expansion involves the construction and fit out of a new Renewable Energy Training Centre including facilities for training of wind turbine technicians.
It is also planned to submit a full planning application by December 2024 with construction starting by March 2025 and building being fitted out and operational by September 2025.
Phase 2a: Revamp & Extension of Existing Reception Building:
This phase will undertake an internal revamp of the existing building and provide an extension to this building to ensure the following aspects are included to ensure the objective of the Humber Freeport Seed Capital Funding are achieved.
- Rebrand the existing Conferencing Centre as the Humber Industrial Decarbonisation Centre.
- House an increased provision of outreach and engagement,
- Provide additional classroom training spaces to achieve an increase in skills training capacity,
- Include an area for Innovation (AR/VR Learning Suite)
- Include an area for research and development,
- Create a large space for industrial decarbonisation conferences, and networking events.
It is planned to submit a full planning application by December 2024 with construction starting by March 2025 and building being fitted out and operational by January 2026.
Consultation Period
The consultation for this project will take place from 1st December 2024 to 18th December 2024.
